MEETS WEEKLY Tuesday, 8:30AM @ Carrows on Oxnard Blvd. (next to McDonald's) open meetings. Who is ONC? A resource/ exchange-collaborative group of 25 to 30 social service, public/private agencies, representatives and business individuals from the private sector dedicated to community service since 1997. Our GOAL IS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE IN OUR COMMUNITY.

OXNARD POLICE DEPARTMENT- Next Senior Trip to the Ronald Reagan Library, Simi Valley call Humberto Jimenez 385-7975 for more Info. The annual Senior Prom for those over age 55 plus will be held Dec.3 at the Oceanview Recreation Center, Dorril B. Wright Cultural Center, 575 East Surfside Drive, Port Hueneme, seats 400. OXNARD UNION HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT Superintendent Gary Davis Thank you to the community, measure H was passed by the voters. This means building improvements at local high school and building new High schools.

SOUTH OXNARD DESIGN TEAM, Ormand Beach & Wetlands preservation is one of this group's major goals and concerns. Also educating the community about the dangers of the LIQUEFIED NATURAL GAS (LNG), Meets Mondays, Marie Calendars at 6:30pm. You can get first hand info why the LNG is bad. Commission on Community Relations: City of Oxnard. Bobi Micali 986-1270 meets monthly. Meetings are televised.

Cabrillo Economic Development, Sigfredo Santiago, 659-6868 X 34. CED has formed collaboration with Affinity Bank. He reported about free education programs on home ownership; he spoke about loan program 5.95% interest, 30-year fix; funding has been made available through foundations to assist families with special funds for second mortgages, and in some cases down payment assistance programs. The public needs to be aware of the predatory lenders to avoid foreclosures of homes. New workshops are being held at the Rain Project, Salvation Army and Casa Merced.

Reliant Energy. Cecelia Hernandez 984-5254, selling tickets for Boys & Girls Club Fundraiser; annual raffle is A Harley-Davidson. B&G's club only sells 1,500 tickets at a cost of $30. Congratulations to Reliant they soliciting funds for their annual donation to Ventura County United Way. Last year they raised over $800,000. Wow!

Wishtoyo Foundation/Ventura Coast Keeper, 382-4540, Dr. Ricardo Melendez, Wishtoyo, is non-profit organization. Wishtoyo is the Chumash word for rainbow, and like the legend telling of the arrival of the first Chumash settlers on a rainbow bridge from Santa Cruz Island, Wishtoyo serves as a bridge to link the people of today to our environment-the land, air and water that support and sustain us. Wishtoyo is good source of information for pesticide control in this area. Ricardo has been appointed to the Channel Islands National Sanctuary Advisory Board, as the new Chumash Representative and to the State EPA Board. Congratulations!

Also a big thanks for cleaning up PCH. This group picked up over 200 pounds of litter last weekend.

Day Laborer's and Farm workers' Project - we are planning on going out this coming Tuesday November 16th; meeting at the Colonia storefront at 4:30 am. We will be distributing information on the Toys for Tots program, food pantries and depression (I'm getting a one page flyer from the Mental Health dept. today.)
