Testimonies:

1)          while I was 5 years old I began to learn to pray----s

Before I left Philippines to start a new life in the US….scripture foundation,  Joshua 1:3    every place that I tread upon is given to me..

Why Pray?    Of course, we do pray…..it is an instinct…..Gen. 1:26 – 27….Let us make mankind in Our image….(before creation of man...Lucifer has already been demoted)….It is an instinct of the original nature----the nature made in God’s image.

(God created Man in His own image and breathed His own life into him so that the whole family of Man would be more than just the most sophisticated part of His creation. God wanted Man to know Him and understand His heart on a level that was only possible because God gave man a part of Himself.

 Speech distinguishes men from animals: speech rising into prayer distinguishes the children of God from the children of this world.

In Matt 6: 9-13   and Luke   11:1-4……the disciples of Jesus observed the distinct quality of their Master’s prayer….Christ’s was a life of prayer. This is shown in Matt 14:23 (prayed alone )…Matt 19:13  prayed for the children) Mark 1:33-35..got up early and went to the deserted place and pray..Luke 3:21…

    “Teach us to pray” as the disciples requested----we forget that we are to learn to pray; and that prayer is to be learned, as all other things, by frequency, constancy, and perseverance.  

     In my Christian life, I am always awed, fascinated with prayer….it is a process, although sometimes it is a difficult process..We need to desire of this, it is a part of  life…we need to grow and learn more…where to find it…from the Bible and teachings of the Holy Spirit..

     Prayer is vital....it is important as breathing…every time we breath we get life and every time we pray we received life from the Lord…The Bible doesn’t say that people always ought to go to church…it doesn’t say that we should always sing in the choir, or teach Sunday School  but clearly says, we always ought to pray…Luke 18:1…and to pray without ceasing…I Thess 5:17….

 OUR FATHER WHICH ART IN HEAVEN……

   “Our”  means all the people in the church….

all saints of the Most High,

our brothers in the Lord, 

the Valley Baptist Church, 

TBN, 

Port Hueneme Baptist Church, 

Solid Rock, 

Centro Evangelistico,

The Heritage Baptist Church,

The missionaries…

The ministers of the Word

The Prayer Partners and Intercessors

And even……….

the brothers that offended us,

the brothers who backbite us,

the brothers we least liked….

Therefore , when we say ‘our” we must associate ourselves with every one of them.

“Our Father”  throw away all selfishness at a breath.

“Father” the fountain word of  all love and  all confidence.

“Our Father which art in Heaven” Wonderful word, that utters the  proper name of a palace fit for Him..whose name is Wonderful.

Before you go anywhere to talk to someone, you have to know the person you’re seeing and there has to be a relationship between you and this person.

You have to know them and they have to know You… This prayer belongs to those who know the Heavenly Father….see John 10:27…my sheep listens to Me and I know them and they follow me…we are His adopted children thru Jesus…

 He is a heavenly Father. What so near  as Father and child, but yet so far as earth and heaven. 

HALLOWED  BE THY NAME….MAY YOUR  ‘NAME’ BE HONORED….

 Malachi 1:6    As a son (daughter)  honors his father, and a servant his master,…..

   The prayer is that  the existence of God may be believed, His attributes and perfections adored  and imitated,  His supremacy acknowledge, and His providence owned and trusted in….

We pray that all men may come to knowledge and acknowledgement of him to the True and Living God…

We pray that in all things we set about, may be directed to and end in God’s glory and honour..

THY KINGDOM COME.  THY WILL BE DONE IN EARTH, AS IT IS IN HEAVEN.

    After conversion (accepting Jesus, in our hearts and lives) It is largely a kingdom that is to come..

   Matt 12:28  “But if I drive out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has come upon you..

   This verse seems to indicate the return of the dominion power that Adam lost in his disobedience.   Jesus came to earth, not to bring a religion, but a kingdom—the governing influence of the kingdom of heaven and earth.   The message proclaims the opportunity for all mankind to regain its lost dominion over earth and its environments through the reception of the Holy Spirit of God to reconnect with heaven…This is why it is called “good news” or gospel.   

   That the King of kings and the Lord of lords will reign over our spirits, souls and bodies which He has redeemed.   We pray for the extinction of all tyranny, whether in the man  or in the multitude, we pray for truth and righteousness in all departments of govt., art and science we pray for the dignity of professions….

  As children of God we part of the royal family of the kingdom of heaven…Like any other member of royalty, we don’t just step into the role without any preparations..we must be trained.  Proper and careful training is essential for rulers in the making..

    Story of this worldly future king…..

    The day Prince William came home for the hospital he was placed in the primary care of those responsible for his princely training.  Princess Diana certainly had regular access to her son, but his day to day training as a royal was in the hands of his tutors.  Royalty walks a certain way, so he was taught how to sit like a king.   Royalty speaks a certain way, so he was taught how to speak like a king.. His diction, tone of voice, and manner of speaking were all carefully nurtured and polished.  He was taught not to raise his voice, because royalty never has to shout.  The power of a king’s voice is not in it’s volume but in it’s authority of position…

 Like Prince William ….we are called the   heir (ear) of salvation….we need to acquire the fruits of the Holy Spirit…Gal 5:22-25……we can have these through the help of the Holy Spirit….

“THY WILL BE DONE  ON EARTH AS IT IS IN HEAVEN”

      What is God’s Will--- our sanctification; that we keep His commandment…to obey His Word…this is from Genesis to Revelation.   

   Ex…site an example:     Exodus 20:1-17……the greatest commandment; 
Matt 22:37-39….You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind…You shall love your neighbor as yourself….

   Not my will( Insert your name.______________________l) but your Will be done O Lord”

 “GIVE US TODAY OUR DAILY BREAD”

 This teaches us that everything we enjoy is the gift of God; that as God is willing and able to give, we should not be overwhelmed by earthly anxieties and cares that we should be every be thankful for having received from God so much more than daily bread.

 That we not only asks for the physical bread but  also His Word…..man shall not lived by bread alone but by every world  that proceeds from the mouth of God…Jesus as the bread….John 6:54-58….the heart is in John 6:58

  We have to ask for these in a daily basis…

 AND FORGIVE US OUR DEBTS, AS WE FORGIVE OUR DEBTORS…FORGIVE US THE WRONGS WE HAVE DONE, AS WE  FORGIVE THE WRONGS OTHERS HAVE DONE US…

    The worshipper confesses his guilt, deprecates (reduce the effect) danger, and asks for deliverance from the evils to which he is exposed..

 Read…Matt 19:23-35…..did he forgive his debtor?

 This is usually the most difficult part in the Lord’s prayer….Mark 11:23-26….we can have it unless we forgive.....

 “AND LEAD US NOT INTO TEMPTATION, BUT DELIVER US FROM EVIL,,,

  OR   KEEP US CLEAR OF TEMPTATION BUT DELIVER US FROM THE EVIL ONE….

  “Temptation…evil…Concealed  pitfalls, …Open dangers, the petition teaches us humility----we are to ask for help against all temptations, even the smallest and not to be led near  them …caution for if our prayer is to be effectual, we must shun evil and the appearance of evil…

 We have to know the sources of temptations:

 1)      the devil---evil temptation may come from him pride, selfishness, hatred, lies unbelief

 2)      the world--- the lust of the eyes

 3)      the flesh--- this is the force which temptation derives from our corrupt nature with its long  heredities of evil..

 Put on the whole armour of God….resist the devil…we are given the authority to tread the serpent…we bind the strongman, here on earth as it is in heaven..

 FOR THINE IS THE KINGDOME AND THE POWER, AND THE GLORY FOR EVER….

     1 Chronicles 29:11

    Personal prayer…. Lord - thank you for saving me, I accept your free gift of Salvation and want to follow you and allow you to lead me in my life.  In Jesus' name - Amen
