The text
of the nasty e-blast from from VC Dems at Medina's support of a
Republican challenger for the California 35th Assembly Seat ......
Both Medina and Bob Pohl acknowledged receiving copies of this
e-mail from more than one forwarder. Sure the e-mail hurt the new alliance
of Medina and Pohl, but tough skin is what makes a great leader and the
political sense.

Dear VCDCC
members and alternates
I was very sorry to hear yesterday that Saul Medina, the outgoing President of
the GOOD Club had endorsed Bob Pohl's candidacy for the 35th Assembly District.
We have enjoyed a good relationship with Saul over the years, first as an
elected member of the VCDCC and later as a nonvoting delegate member through his
position as Good Club President. I feel that Saul made a terrible mistake in
doing this, one that will be very costly to him in the future.
It is against the by-laws of the California Democratic Party to "publicly
support ... a candidate nominated by another party;" therefore, it has been
necessary for our Regional Director Bob Handy with my concurrence to put into
action a request that Saul's membership be revoked. Saul, of course, will have
an opportunity to respond to any charges or to resign. The Good Club has a
similar clause in its by-laws and they are taking action as well.
Since Saul did not run for reelection to the VCDCC in the March primary and the
last meeting at which he would have represented the Good Club as President (a
meeting which he did not attend) was this past Tuesday, his relationship with
the VCDCC is ended and I have communicated this to him along with my
disappointment in his actions. I had Larry Miller remove the link to Saul's web
site for his election to the Oxnard City Council.
The Good News is that Pedro Nava's campaign is ready to roll into Ventura
County, and we are going to work harder than ever to elect him to replace
Hannah-Beth.

Saul Medina resigned from the GOOD Club today, October 5. It is a pity
he was ever elected. In the four years I have known him his actions of
disappointing people became more apparent with the passage of time. It
was I that suggested that he join the GOOD Club when we first met
campaigning for city council. I made this suggestion on the basis that
he might run again and with the help of Democrats he might win. I made
several other suggestiions that I won't go into here, suffice to say he
followed them all. Within one year I realised I had completely misjudged
the mans' character and stopped talking to him and had nothing further
to do with him.
What did Lincoln say about fooling people? Medinas' actions belied his
words and he no longer fools ethical Democrats.
